National Stationery Week | 7 days of stationery

Hi, my name is Laura and I am a stationery addict.

There, I said it.

But I know I'm not the only one here am I?

Clearly not, as there is a whole week dedicated to all things stationery which kicks off today!!

Which is not only the perfect time to grab your favourite stationery and give it some love by writing a letter, a poem or drawing something. Either way, it doesn't matter, the idea is to let your imagination run wild!

But also, there are a ton of competitions, activities and discounts out there for each day so it's the perfect time to grab yourself some new stationery goodies!

7 days of prompts from

I will be celebrating and joining in with all the fun throughout the week but let's kick off today.

Day One.

And today I'm celebrating with Stabilo.

"Pens with cult status - that is what STABILO stands for. The family-run enterprise STABILO is one of the world's leading manufacturers of writing instruments and stands for German quality, an extraordinary variety of colours and ground-breaking innovative strength. The diverse products from STABILO are highly sought-after throughout the world and make the life of millions of people a bit more colourful each and every day."

Stabilo is a household name, established in 1966, STABILO is a brand you know you will get quality products from. You also know you will find what you are looking for - every writing, colouring & highlighting need is catered for by Stabilo!

Everything from products for children's colouring, drawing & writing...

Pen 68 is has a 1.0 mm fine fibre-tip which is perfect for these intricate colouring books my 9 year old daughter loves to do. Not only that, the colours are so vibrant and great for large areas too, giving even ink distribution every time.

Pen 68 also lends itself very well to drawing, producing lovely strong lines.

If your child loves learning to draw as much as mine, the stabilo website has a great page full of tutorials for both beginners and intermediates.

Also particularly great for kids, these pens have a 24 hours cap off time - how good is that? We've all been there with pots of dried up pens where the lids have been left off for the hour that they are sat at the table colouring & drawing!

They are also water based and completely odourless, which again is just fab for kids!

Pen 68 comes in 47 brilliant and luminous colours, including 6 fluorescent shades.

To work place essentials.

My husband is a design engineer so stationery is just a fact of life for him and he is always looking through my pots and cases to pilfer the best bits.

An essential to his job, aside from a ruler, is a good pen and a good highlighter.

The STABILO BOSS ORIGINAL was first introduced in 1971 and has been a firm favourite and best selling highlighter.

Professional Quality!

These highlighters are built to last. And they really do!

The highlighter features STABILO Anti-Dry-Out technology meaning you get 4 hours dry-out protection for concentrated work, you get 2 line widths 2 & 5mm ideal for highlighting texts of various sizes as well as drawing lines of different thickness and best of all it is refillable, which is much better for the environment than disposing of the plastic once it runs out!!

The pen he's using on his designs here is from the beYou! rollerball range which features 21 different designs.

The pen features a medium 0.5mm tip and has a non-slip grip zone suitable for both right and left-handed people.

The pen is great for his designs in particular because it doesn't scratch, blot or smudge like lots of rollerballs can. The ink is also erasable which is useful!

Not only that, this is a refillable cartridge pen (it comes with one ready) so you can refill which again is much better for the environment and avoids needless waste.

And any writing needs at home.

I'm literally always writing things down at home, from filling in forms and homework books for the children's school to shopping lists, reminders and endless to do lists.

I know a lot of people like to use technology these days and write notes in their phones but I'm still old school and still like to write everything down in an actual notebook.

There is nothing more satisfying than starting your day by writing yourself a to-do list and then marking off each activity as you go. I'm sad, but I get a real sense of achievement once it's all done.

I like to use another cartridge pen in the beYou! fountain pen range which takes me right back to my school days!

"The beYou! fountain pen range with the two beCrazy! and beFab! lines offer a variety of 24 trendy and modern designs, from loud and crazy to soft and elegant. The beCrazy! models with slim shaft and colorful, vivid and crazy motifs will please children and adults alike. The beFab! line with a classic thick shaft adds subtly varied accents with graphical elements and structures. It additionally offers a calligraphy pen with a 1.4 nib that is an absolute must-have for all fans of the lettering trend as well as scrapbook lovers. Words become little works of art and every letter a unique eye-catcher."

Learning to write beautifully with a calligraphy pen is on my list of things to master this year!

Last up is the STABILO Gel Exxx in this beautiful pink colour, which writes with such ease, it literally glides over the paper and writes like a dream.

"With it's medium tip rollerball not only ensures a pleasantly soft writing feel, but also attractive handwriting"

And in case small mistakes are made, no problem! Thanks to the erasable ink, spelling mistakes can be corrected in no time; just erase and write over them.

The STABILO Gel Exxx is available in 6 different ink colours and as with most of STABILO pens is refillable with STABILO Gel Exxx refills.

Where can I buy STABILO products?

You can buy direct from the STABILO website or any well known stationery shops as well as supermarkets and departments stores.
