Review | Hape Chunky Clock Puzzle

My 4 year old Finn, has been lucky enough to have been sent this lovely Chunky Clock by Hape to test out.

First impressions at a glance:
  • Bright & colourful.
  • Eco-friendly
  • Chunky for small hands
  • Educational
  • Great quality

I love any wooden toys like this, they not only look great, they are super hard wearing and most importantly, much better for the environment than any plastic made ones!

The design is lovely, really bright and eye catching and I love the little bugs on each number!

The clock also comes with a stand so it can be displayed standing up which is a lovely addition to the design.

Finn like to proudly display his on the window sill!

The clock is such a simple toy, and do you know what? The simple toys are always the best.

It's simple design does in no way mean it lacks educational value at all.

The clock not only teaches colours, counting and shapes, but also introduces time telling - so the toy will easily last years in terms of educational value.

One your child has cracked colours, they can move onto counting and number recognition and so on.

So what did Finn make of it?

He loves it! He loves puzzles anyway and so this was always going to be a winner with him.

The chunky pieces are just the right size for his chubby little hands to grab and hold and really encourages development of dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination, especially for children slightly younger than Finn.

The pictures here give a good indication of size.

Overall, we both love the Hape Chunky Clock Puzzle.

It has provided hours of fun and learning already.

The quality of the product is a winner for me. It is super well made and it's clear that a lot of testing goes into producing a safe product, free from any sharp points, small parts and the use of child friendly paint that doesn't flake or chip.

It is robust and made to last. The people at Hape clearly recognise that children can be boisterous (mine definitely are!) and this puzzle has been dropped and thrown but shows absolutely no signs of wear or tear, there are no dents or anything!

The Chunky Clock Puzzle is suitable for ages 3-5 years and retails at around £13-15, available from many retailers including Amazon.
