Pass the love on at the newly refurbished Birmingham Thorntons

To celebrate the re-opening of the newly refurbished Birmingham High Street store on Tuesday evening a couple of weeks ago, I was kindly invited along to a special preview event to witness the love, passion and care that goes into each Thorntons product and to 'Pass the love on'.

Of course, I wasn't going to pass up on the opportunity to be surrounded by chocolate was I?

Centrally located on the High Street, the Birmingham street is in a great location for anyone visiting the area for a shopping trip (the new gigantic Primark is just two doors down!) and is just a stone’s throw away from Grand Central Station, so really easy to get to.

The inside is just as easy to navigate, with clear sections and stations for the different products available.

My favourite of which has to be the new Craftery which is immediately on your left as you walk through the door.

The new Craftery offers customers the chance to 'create your own' box of chocolates from a wide selection of different flavours across the popular Thorntons Classics and Thorntons Continental boxed ranges.

The choice can be a little overwhelming for someone as indecisive as me, but the lady behind the counter was on hand to help. Her knowledge and passion for the chocolates shone through, and by telling her just a few little details of the sorts of flavours I liked, she helped talk me through which chocolates she thought I might enjoy.

I mean, to be honest, the way she described each one of them made them all sound utterly delicious and my mouth was watering at the thought of every single one.

I also found it interesting to hear from one of the chocolate makers on how she had actually developed some of the chocolates and flavours herself, which really showed in her enthusiasm for the products. She had a real sense of pride about them, which was lovely.

You can also add a little personalised chocolate label, tied to the box with a beautiful bow, which makes these ‘create your own’ chocolate boxes the perfect gift for you to pass the love on to someone special.

Or you can be like me of course and keep them all for yourself and have one as a treat with a cup of tea everyday!

Another station which is just perfect for passing the love on is the Personalisation Station, at the rear of the store.

The shelves on the right are packed full of amazing chocolate models, with something for everyone, that can be iced and beautifully wrapped for any celebration.

I was actually mesmerized by the lady piping the message onto these. She was an absolute whizz and made it look ridiculously easy (I can assure you it isn't. I've had many a piping disaster in my time!).

She really took great care over it, and it shows in the professional finish of the
product.

Next to the personalisation station and chocolate models is the Chocolate Blocks library, where you can create your own personalised tower of blocks.

Again, there are so many different flavours available, something for everyone's tastes and each one tastes just as delicious as they sound.

Beautifully presented in their own little box, your five blocks are then carefully tied with a bow for a quality finish.

It really is all about what you want and the the little details that make this.

In addition to the personalised goodies that you can get, there is also a wide range of ready to go boxes for those that are rushed for time or just want a classic selection (you can get a first-look at the newly relaunched Thorntons Classics selection too!)

Finding gifts for people can sometimes feel like a chore, but Thorntons make it easy to find something your loved ones will cherish, they even have some prewrapped boxes ready on the shelves for those times when you’re in a hurry.

And if you are not looking for a gift or big box of chocolates but a little treat for a night in, Thorntons have these new absolute treats of luxury. Thorntons Pearls come in two different flavours - Salted Caramel and Nutty Crunch - both of which I can personally say are deliciously moreish.

In addition to chocolates and gifts galore, the new store also offers a selection of hot chocolates and milkshakes in a variety of flavours, inspired by the delicious flavours of Thorntons chocolates.

I had a little try of the salted caramel milkshake, which was perfectly creamy, cold and chocolatey. Absolute heaven!

Honestly, I think Thorntons reputation for quality chocolate treats goes without saying. The brand has been going for over 100 years now and they have perfected their craft. However, what stood out to me at the Birmingham store was the staff. They were all smiley, passionate, knowledgeable, helpful people who clearly love what they do and make shopping in the store a fun, stress-free experience.

The Birmingham store is on the High Street, B4 7SL, be sure to pop in next time you are in the area and see for yourself how lovely it is. I’ve literally touched on half of what is going on there and not even mentioned the creamy ice-creams or chocolate fountain bursting with strawberries, fudge, brownies and mini doughnuts, to cover in a delicious layer of chocolate!

In the meantime you can visit www.thorntons.co.uk for any more information on any of the products mentioned here or follow them on social media - Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.

#Sponsored #Ad | As mentioned previously, I was kindly invited to the Thorntons Birmingham store for the preview of the re-opening, and this post is part of my collaboration with them on this. All words and opinions however are entirely my own and I genuinely had such a lovely time and wanted to share that with you all.
